Amazon MGM Studiosrevealed that the search is officially on for the next 007.
"The search for the next James Bond is underway,"Amazon MGM Studios said in a statement Thursday, May 14. "While we don't plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we're excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right."

When news of the Amazon deal was announced, Amazon founder Jeff Bezosasked followerson X, "Who'd you pick as the next Bond?" Now, fans are one step closer to having that answer.
Daniel Craigmost recently donned the suit as the suave, international super spy, with hisJames Bond making his debonaire debutin 2006 with "Casino Royale."
Craig's final outing as 007 in "No Time to Die" in 2021 earned nearly $800 million at the global box office.

Who has played James Bond?
Before Craig's turn as 007,Pierce Brosnantook the helm as the iconic character through the '90s and early 2000s, beginning with 1995's "GoldenEye" and concluding with 2002's "Die Another Day."
Sean Conneryoriginated the role in the films, based on British novelist Ian Fleming's fictional character from his spy novels, in 1962's "Dr. No." Connery's run, which ended with "Diamonds Are Forever" in 1971, was followed by David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Brosnan and finally Craig.

Whoever is selected for the new James Bond will have stiff competition, with stars includingIdris Elba,Henry Golding,Harris Dickinson,Aaron Taylor-Johnsonand more thrown into the ring by fans over the years as possibilities to play the next 007.
